Cranio Cutie Crawl 5K

The Cranio Cutie Crawl is a FREE 5k run/walk that was started in 2013 to benefit Annie Ward and her family, and to bring awareness to craniosynostosis. Again this year Annie's family is "paying it forward." All the money raised will be going to support craniosynostosis awareness. We can only accept the first 400 runners, so sign up NOW!

  • Race date: October 28, 2017 at 8:30 am
  • Location: Shawnee Mission Park, Shelters 1 and 2
  • Race length: 5 km (3.1 mi)
  • Packet pick-up:Race Packets can be picked up at the Information Table on race day from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
  • Cost: FREE (though, since this is a fundraising event, we suggest a donation of $25 or more)
  • Registration includes: Tech shirt, Chip Timing, and Food

Two Guys And A Grill will be serving pancakes and sausage to race participants while supplies last.

Who is Annie?

Annie is the daughter of Chris and Megan Ward. Annie was born in April 2013 with a rare syndrome called Saethre-Chotzen Syndrome. Along with this diagnosis, Annie also has a condition called Craniosynostosis. Craniosynostosis is a condition where the sutures in the skull close prematurely, causing problems with normal brain and skull growth. Because of this, Annie has already undergone four surgeries: September 2013, June 2014, December 2014, and most recent, July 2015.

It is Chris' and Megan's hope that this race will continue to bring awareness and support families with children facing surgery for Craniosynostosis. The Ward's are extermely humbled by the turnout at last year's race and are eager to see just as much support for 2016!
